Welcome to Learn Like A Mom!
This blog is a personal blog written and edited by me, Anna W. If a guest post is published it will be clearly marked and labeled with the author’s name. For questions about this blog, please contact learnlikeamom (at) gmail (dot) com.
This blog abides by word of mouth marketing standards. I believe in honesty of relationship, opinion and identity. Integrity and building a trusting relationship with my readers are important to me.
The term “Users” refers to each, a “User” of learnlikeamom.com, or www.learnlikeamom.com, the “Site.”
The Basics
When you are on the Internet, visiting websites, including learnlikeamom.com, there are things going on “behind the scenes,” like information being gathered from your computer. As the owner of Learn Like A Mom, I want to be clear with my users and readers. I am not trying to be tricky whatsoever. Below you will find more in depth language that covers my privacy policy and disclosure. Here, I want to keep it simple.
If you visit Learn Like A Mom, I use Google Analytics to analyze the traffic (the visitors) to my site. A simple internet search can tell you how Google Analytics works and how they collect data. I use the data to see where people come to my site from, both digital locations and physical locations. So, for example, I could see that Post A is getting attention from people using Pinterest, or the highest number of visits to my website are from people in the U.S.A. That sort of thing. Google may collect your user ID/hashed personal data, IP address, cookies, or internet behavior. I can see which posts are the most popular and I can break down demographic information to learn who my audience really is, where they like to hang out online, and which neck of the woods they’re visiting from.
When someone views a page on my blog…this is data. How long they stay on my site…this is data. If they’re a new visitor…this is data. Data collection helps me understand what I am doing well and what I can do better. It shows me who likes reading my posts and where I should invest time sharing my posts online. It also helps me communicate with brands, influential networks, authors, businesses, etc. who want to know how many people my content reaches, where they are located, and how engaged they are. This helps us decide if we might be a good fit to work with one another.
In addition to sharing sponsored content (posts I am paid to write), I participate in affiliate marketing. This means I have links in my blog posts that take you to another site. When you click an affiliate link, a cookie will be placed on your browser to track any sales activity from the product or company that I am linking to. This information tracks purchases, so that I can be compensated for referring you to the product or store (at no additional cost to you.) Cookies are also used by Google to to track site performance and user behavior and patterns.
Some cookies are essential to make our site work; others help us improve your user experience or allow us to track behavior and patterns or are used for advertising purposes. If you decline, my site may not load or appear correctly for you.
When subscribing to my newsletters, you are providing information that stored I use a third party provider that tracks how many newsletters I have sent out, who has opened the email, who has clicked through a link the email, and who has deleted the email without opening it…that sort of stuff. This type of information allows me to see how engaged my email subscribers are with my content or having a third party provider is worth the expense on my part.
When commenting on my blog posts, your information relating to your comment, like your IP address and the date or time, along with the comment itself is stored.
When filling out a contact form, your information is gathered and used to communicate with you.
Children should ask their parents before using any site on the Internet and before providing any personal information to anyone online at any time. Please do not submit or post any information if you are minor. Please do not submit or post any information about your minor if you are an adult. Unless I specifically disclose this during collection, Learn Like A Mom does not intentionally collect any personal identifiable information about minors (under age 18 in the U.S.A., under age 16 in the EU) and minors are not eligible to participate in contests on Learn Like A Mom. Learn Like A Mom does not knowingly use any information about minors for marketing or promotional purposes. If you believe Learn Like A Mom has collected any information about a minor, please contact me immediately so that the collected information will be deleted.
